The career development activities supported by the South Eastern Alberta Partners for Youth Career Development include:
Career Awareness Classroom Presentations:
- Career Opportunities in the Trades and the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Presentations are made to all Grade 10 students in the region.
- Career Opportunities in the Health Services Industry and the Health Services Summer Internship Program. Presentations are made to all Grade 11 students in the region.
Off-Campus Education Programs:
- Pre-RAP Internship and the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)
- Co-op Apprenticeship Program
- Health Services Summer Internship Program
- Oil and Gas Production Field Operations Program
Career Planning and Employability Skills Portfolios:
- Cenovus (formerly EnCana) has been providing funding for the supplies needed to create the Career Planning and Employability Skills Portfolios for the past eight years.
- Direct support is provided by the coordinator of the Partnership to assist teachers in providing the Employability Skills Portfolios project to students.
South East Alberta Regional Skills Canada Competitions:
- The South Eastern Alberta Partners for Youth Career Development develops the funding proposals for this annual event. Prairie Rose School Division submits the proposals for the Partnership.
- Sue Feeney is the Project Manager for the annual Skills Competition.
